CodeSouth is expanding.

Our DAB coverage now reaches Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight, taking CodeSouth’s underground sound further along the South Coast and introducing the station, our DJs and the music we champion to a whole new audience.

It’s another big step for a station that started in Brighton back in 2010 with a small group of DJs and a simple idea: give underground dance music and local talent a proper platform.

More than 15 years later, CodeSouth has grown into a community of over 70 presenters, with live shows throughout the week covering everything from House, Techno and UK Garage to Drum & Bass, Jungle, Trance, Hip Hop and beyond.

And now that community is getting bigger.

Taking the South Coast sound further

Brighton will always be our home.

It’s where CodeSouth started, where our studio is based and where generations of DJs, producers, promoters and music lovers have helped shape the station.

But the underground scene doesn’t stop at the edge of the city.

Expanding our DAB coverage into Portsmouth and across the Isle of Wight gives us the opportunity to connect with more listeners, more DJs and more of the communities that make the South Coast’s music scene what it is.

For us, expanding isn’t about becoming another faceless national radio station.

It’s about taking what makes CodeSouth special and sharing it with more people.

Built by the scene

CodeSouth has always been about more than putting records on the radio.

Over the years, hundreds of DJs and artists have passed through the station. Our presenters are active across the local music scene, playing clubs, festivals and events while bringing that same energy back to the CodeSouth airwaves.

From our Brighton studio to live broadcasts, festival takeovers and shows coming from home studios, basements, lofts and occasionally even sheds, CodeSouth has grown because people passionate about music have wanted to be part of it.

That isn’t changing.
