CodeSouth’s DAB coverage now reaches Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight, taking the station further along the South Coast.

Listeners in the new coverage areas can find CodeSouth.FM by retuning their DAB radios. They will then be able to hear our DJs and live shows without needing to listen online.

CodeSouth began in Brighton in 2010. A small group of DJs started the station to give underground dance music and local talent a proper place on the radio.

More than 15 years later, over 70 presenters broadcast on CodeSouth throughout the week. The schedule covers House, Techno, UK Garage, Drum & Bass, Jungle, Trance, Hip Hop and plenty in between.

Now, more of the South Coast can tune in.

Taking CodeSouth’s DAB coverage further

Brighton is still home. It is where the station started, where our main studio is based and where many of our presenters DJ, produce music and run events.

However, the underground scene does not stop at the edge of the city. DJs, promoters, venues and listeners can be found right along the coast.

Extending the DAB signal into Portsmouth and across the Isle of Wight gives more people a chance to find the station. It also puts CodeSouth within reach of more DJs and music lovers across the area.

We are not trying to become a faceless national broadcaster. CodeSouth will remain an independent, music-led station run by people who are involved in the scene themselves.

The signal simply travels a bit further now.

Built by the people behind the music

Hundreds of DJs and artists have passed through CodeSouth since 2010. Many of our presenters also play at clubs, festivals and events, then bring that music back to the station.

Shows come from our Brighton studio as well as home setups, basements, lofts and the occasional shed. That slightly improvised spirit has always been part of CodeSouth.

The station has grown because people who care about the music have chosen to get involved. Reaching Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight means more people can now hear what they do.
