About CodeSouth
CodeSouth is an independent underground dance music radio station based in Brighton, UK. Founded in 2010, the station has more than 40 presenters broadcasting live DJ-led shows on DAB and online.
Underground dance music radio from Brighton
CodeSouth started with 15 Brighton DJs who wanted more space for underground dance music on local radio.
Since then, hundreds of DJs and artists have played on the station. Today, our presenters broadcast live throughout the week, during the daytime and into the evening. We are continuing to add more live shows across the daytime schedule.
The music comes first. Our shows are built around DJs playing the records they know and care about, mostly from the CodeSouth studio in Brighton.
We have also broadcast from home studios, lofts, basements, garages and, occasionally, sheds.
CodeSouth at clubs and festivals
CodeSouth has hosted events at clubs and bars across Brighton. Our presenters also play regularly at parties, venues and festivals around the city and further afield.
In 2025 and 2026, CodeSouth took over the Moonshine Fandango stage on the Friday of Elderflower Fields. DJs from across the station played throughout the day and into the night.
You can read more about the CodeSouth takeover at Elderflower Fields 2026.
For Love on the Runway 2026, CodeSouth has its own multi-genre tent at Manston Airport in Ramsgate. The tent runs across the weekend, with House, Techno, Jungle, UK Garage and more from CodeSouth DJs.
These appearances are part of the same thing we do on air: giving DJs room to play their music and helping listeners find something they might not hear elsewhere.
How to listen to CodeSouth
CodeSouth broadcasts on DAB across Brighton & Hove, Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight. This extends the station’s coverage west from Brighton along the South Coast.

You can also listen online through the CodeSouth website or watch CodeSouth live on Mixcloud. Shows are uploaded regularly for anyone who missed the live broadcast.
