Off Duty with Kooky

Kooky is a Brighton-based DJ playing tech house, deep house, progressive house, house. After mysteriously recovering from years of Hyperacusis, a condition that made listening to music painful, she finally got to experience her favourite artists, including Dom Dolla, John Summit and Gorgon City, live. Her DJ journey began with an intensive crash course after stepping up to perform at a charity event for Mind at Brighton Electric in May 2023. Since then, Kooky has become a familiar face on the Brighton scene, playing open decks at venues including Block Bar, Tiki Hut, The Mesmerist and upstairs at Rybka. Neurodiverse and always pushing herself to improve, Kooky brings passion, energy and a genuine love of dance music to every set. Nothing beats seeing people vibing on the dancefloor and connecting through music. Looking ahead, Kooky’s ambition is to move into music production and begin releasing her own original tracks. @djkooky1
