Dj Vy was born and raised in Coventry, grew up listening to RnB, Hip-Hop, Reggae, then discovered a love for House & Garage aged 13, and the rest is history. Once he had his first mix it was simply, Todd Edwards, Victor Simonelli, Grant Nelson, Karl “Tuff Enuff” Brown, Danny J Lewis, MJ Cole, Roger Sanchez, Kenny Dope, Louie Vega, just to name a few, “I think you can see the pattern here”. Vy has over 25 years experience playing in various clubs, bars in the midlands, and being a resident on various different pirate radio stations up and down the country. Fast forward to 2023 after taking a number of years out I’m currently a resident for the House Party events, and after playing on various online radio shows I’m happy to be joining the CodeSouth family for a bi-weekly show dropping pure Deep House, Garage House, Soulful House vibes.
One of my favourite things to do has always been listening to music and discovering new tracks. This has been the case for as long as I can remember! Before I started DJing I used to spend hours every week trawling record shops and then later the internet and finding exciting new tunes and mixes to play for my friends at parties. Looking back, I always wanted to play music for people – it was in my heart. During the past few years life has really expanded for me as a DJ and I am now playing regularly at nights @ Coast, Worthing – often with my girlfriend Tor Lloyd – such as All 4 Love (a collab with me, Tor and our friends Tom Larkins and Lee Payne), Queens of House and Beats on the Beach (both hosted by Lizzie Curious), Girlflix (a brilliant lesbian and queer female event) and I / we have also been invited to play […]
Hallowed Sound is a new DJ and aspiring producer from the south east of England. From only finding his passion for mixing and underground music back in 2019 he’s quickly progressed in his style and ability, now playing events and festivals both in the UK and internationally. His main genre of music is Jungle and DNB with an emphasis on combining older tracks from the origins of DNB with new releases. His goal is to search the back catalogs of influential labels across the history of underground music to play sounds that are long forgotten in modern day DNB music. His hope is that this gives the youth of rave culture a taste of the early days of underground music within his complex and fast passed style of mixing.
Ian B has been collecting vinyl since the 1970’s, clubbing since the 1980’s and as a lover of all things funk, soul, boogie, disco, jazz, jazz funk, hip hop, brazilian, neo soul, nu jazz, his mission is to share all of those genres and anything that falls in the cracks in a left field kind of way.
J.K.S has been in the radio scene for many years, parting since 88/89, promoting since the 90s, DJing since 2007 ish, He plays a mixed bag, a blend of Melodic, Organic, Deep Soulful, Afro & Minimal Tech House, with a club classic or classic rework thrown in for good measure. Brighton resident Jeni Hipkiss, is currently hosting her own prime time Codesouth radio show @4pm every last Saturday of the month. After 5 years of presenting on this radio station, Jeni has developed a show focussed around new house releases. Jeni has been seen DJing at various clubs in Brighton & Social Chill Bar, Maidstone. Bookings have included at I360 for Brighton Music Conference, and a regular on the i360 Summer Terrace parties. Jeni has also been seen DJing at The Tempest, for Kings of Tomorrow, Cream (Sandy Riviera) and Do Not Sleep at The Arch Club Brighton. Jeni has also appeared on the DJ line up for Brighton based Tech Noir, either getting the dance floor started up or delivering a keen tech closing set!
